At least on the V11 the charging current goes through its own wiring and connectors, as well as dedicated parts of the BMS circuit board.

I think it is. I use an adapter with a high quality metal plug so I can charge my V10F with a 5A charger that I bought on amazon. The adapter and the plug get pretty hot when the battery is near empty and I have to charge a long time. I wish Inmotion used a GX16 plug instead of that flimsy little GX12 one, it would be so much better and more rugged... and I wouldnt have had to build an adapter.

There is a separate charging circuit, having its own capabilities and limitations.
