chrisjunlee
I'veĀ been letting people use my MCM5 to learn, and deep battlescars were hadĀ Any tips on buffing the scratches out? I was thinking of wet/dry sandpaper, but not sure if that's the right way to go about it.

Rehab1
Wow... what a nice guy loaning out your wheel! Plastic scratches are tough to remove. You can try @Declan acoustic-unicyclistĀ āsĀ method ( Iāve never had any luck) orĀ cover up a majority of them with protective auto molding. You can thenĀ useĀ a black sharpie to concealĀ the remainder. I use Cowles Auto Molding Products regularly (mainly the 2 versions below).Ā Most styles can be purchased on Amazon or direct from their company website: http://www.cowlesproducts.com https://www.amazon.com/Cowles-Truck-Door-Edge-Trim/dp/B07BRYD9TQ/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?keywords=cowles+edge+trim&qid=1565118878&s=gateway&sprefix=cowles+&sr=8-4#immersive-view_1565118899495 Ā https://www.amazon.com/Cowles-T5603-Carbon-Fiber-Style/dp/B07QZYS7N5/ref=mp_s_a_1_6?keywords=cowles+edge+trim&qid=1565118940&s=gateway&sprefix=cowles+&sr=8-6 Ā there.... a little better Ā Edited August 6, 2019 by Rehab1
Marty Backe
I say, "Embrace the scratches", and consider them part of the patina of a well enjoyed wheel.

When you ride trails in the mountains it's just about guaranteed that you'll be dropping the wheelĀ
Rywokast
its impossible unless you want to make the entire thing a lot more matte and sand it down lol but it still will be impossible to get those deeper ones to disappear... you could fill them and re paint it thats about it besides replacing parts or covering them
Darrell Wesh
Those scratches chipped the paint off. You canāt get them out. Go buy some touch up paint and fill them in.Ā
