Gene Martin
My helmet mounted camera project is complete, and so far it is working well. I used a little better display and battery pack, but it still came in around $50. Helmet Cam Pics.docx
ir_fuel
Not to be "that guy", but please don't upload Word documents here if you want to show stuff. Pictures + text is a lot better and safer, before people download documents containing exploits/viruses, especially coming from an account with 5 posts. Hope you understand This is the link in the document, for those interested: http://www.graphmyrun.com/blog/diy-rear-view-bike-camera.html

Dan the Man
My low tech solutions were a) bicycle rear vision mirror mounted with short arm at side of helmet. b) short peace of wooden broomstick with bicycle bell and bicycle mirror, held in my hand while riding. Both worked well.
sbouju
@Gene Martin : I bought such a kit some years ago (a cheap one, for me), but not tried it on the wheel (*), because I suspect its screen luminosity will not be OK... Yours is fine? (*) not tried in the car too, just made some test at home !
Gene Martin
@sbouju Ya, it works pretty good. If I am inside and point the camera at a sunny window there is a lot of bloom or washout, but for normal riding it isn't a problem. If I am riding on a tree tunnel road there isn't an issue. Maybe going into a dark tunnel from sunlight would cause a problem. I velcro the display to my wrist guard or just slip it into my shirt pocket. Sure beats turning around and seems to be a better view than a mirror.
giggidditygiggiddity
Amazon glasses, mini projector on to lens - limited availability to currently at locations on-site in-person sizing is a future possibility with a compatible Bluetooth/wifi enabled mini camera.
