RickyBobby
Hi guys, Do any of you know the Continuous Current, and the Peak Discharge on the Tesla & Mten 3 batteries? It's my understanding that for each unit there are two batteries and they have a 84.7 Voltage. Thanks everyone!
Marty Backe
The Mten3 has one battery.

That is only useful as a charging max voltage and is fairly meaningless from a power point of view where the average discharge voltage is what is usually stated 3.6V/cell or 3.7V/cell (if the manufacturer likes to exaggerate a bit) so 72V or 74V. So your research so far hasn’t been too successful ? The Tesla comes in both 850 and 1020 Wh and either pack has the same amount of cells, just with different capacities (~2900 mAh vs. 3500 mAh) so that will be a 20S4P configuration. I don’t know what cells it uses (possibly LG MJ1 in the 1020Wh battery ?) but typically max discharge is 10A for both sizes so peak discharge will be 40 Amps at 72V. (Some 18650 cells can discharge higher) Tesla has a 1900W motor so continuous current will be set by that = 26 Amps. Running at that power, assuming nothing overheated, you would get only about 30 minutes out of the larger battery so in reality it is more likely to be somewhat less than 14 Amps. nowjoel
20 cells in series configuration in the mten3, but nothing in parallel?

Depends on the capacity - weren't there different configurations? Edit: is 460 and 512Wh, both 84V. So seem to be 18650 20s2p with different cell capacities. ~2900 and ~3500 mAh? nowjoel
but, two in parallel for 460 and 512Wh, right
Tawpie
1 stack of 20 cells x 2.9 Ah/cell = 58 Ah, times 4.2V/cell fully charged = 243 Wh. Two in parallel would be 486 Wh. So yes, 20s2p pencils out. The twin stacks are contained in 1 wrapper.
