I'm getting it just thinking about it!

What I was designing was sort of a "Groot suit"... it looked like plastic bars woven together to offer full protection from skidding, but also give very high amounts of ventilation.  Looked kinda funky.  But it'd have definitely been light and effective.

It seems like it would be a good idea for someone to make backpacks for cyclists/EUC riders that have something like the spine protector - built into the padding of the backpack where it rests on your back. This way even if you have oddly shaped objects in the backpack, the padding/shell should prevent these from poking you in such a way that you suffer a serious back injury...

That's basically what you get when wearing the Dainese protector + a normal soft backpack. The protector goes way higher/lower than a backpack.

Apparently there is a pack version of the spine protector I brought. Hmm.

Just wear a motorcycle back protector?

I just to use one of these:

This is really overkill ... many riding jackets have a back protector built in.   You simply need to spread out impact from a fall on an EUC; on a motorbike, you are already pretty flat, so you are absorbing bumps while you are skidding at 20-180+mph, and the sudden stop that surely will come.

Not necessarily on the street.

Just read this  tonight. Sort of a coincidence as it relates to the@Chris Westland post.  AIparently Olga was well known in social media.

"Olga Pronina was racing through the city of Vladivostok in Russia when she lost control of her BMW motorcycle and ploughed into a side railing on Monday evening."

Ugh, this is the kind of thing a person probably shouldn't be doing once they have a kid to take care of.
