What I was designing was sort of a "Groot suit"... it looked like plastic bars woven together to offer full protection from skidding, but also give very high amounts of ventilation. Looked kinda funky. But it'd have definitely been light and effective.

This way even if you have oddly shaped objects in the backpack, the padding/shell should prevent these from poking you in such a way that you suffer a serious back injury... That's basically what you get when wearing the Dainese protector + a normal soft backpack. The protector goes way higher/lower than a backpack. I just to use one of these: This is really overkill ... many riding jackets have a back protector built in. You simply need to spread out impact from a fall on an EUC; on a motorbike, you are already pretty flat, so you are absorbing bumps while you are skidding at 20-180+mph, and the sudden stop that surely will come. electricpen
All of this talk makes me wonder... How many EUC riders have ridden motorcycles in the past?

There was a poll about that probably within the last two or three weeks.
RayRay
Of course, there is always this option...
electricpen
Maybe this would be a superior option...
