seamus Posted September 17, 2017 Share Posted September 17, 2017 Hello everyone:) I'm new to this forum and this is my first post;) Couple days ago I bought KS14S. It's my first wheel, it feels great but I still need practicing. Don't know If this has been mentioned, but there is new firmware v1.05. It looks like speed limitation is fixed. I made upgrade (from v1.04 to 1.05) with new app without any problems. Maybe someone with better riding skills than me (i.e. Marty:)) can confirm what has been changed. With this new app it should be easy to upgrade to the new firmware....as i have heard the newer firmwares only can be installed through the "new app".. I see no differences. I go to the Firmware tab in the app and all it shows me is that I'm using 1.04. I see know options for doing anything else. Marty Backe Posted September 18, 2017 Share Posted September 18, 2017 I took the plunge, upgraded to 1.05, and now my wheel doesn't balance Everything appeared to go smoothly. I watched as the progress indicator went from 0 to 100 and the wheel re-booted. I can connect to it, reconfigure it, etc. But no balancing. There's no option for reloading 1.05 or going backwards. Anybody have any ideas??? EDIT: OK, got it working. I had to click Lock button and select Unlock. I'm not sure what that's about. Besides all the social crap, the Light Ring configuration is nice. This is a new security feature: you can apply a password, and then the wheel can be only unlocked with the password. If the wheel is stolen, it is worthless for the thief. No, having a firmware that doesn't support this feature means only that you cannot lock the wheel. Therefore there is no need to unlock. If the firmware supports it, like seemingly your new KS14 FW, you must always unlock it, in your case without entering a password (or maybe only the first time if you have not set a password. Thats all, possibly it must be applied with a further step by touching an "ok" button or something, but I believe just selecting "Get code" is enough.
