Popular Post DjPanJan
In the background, I bought a KS16X second batch made on August 10, 2019 with a motherboard 1.4 and firmware 1.05 pre-installed from the factory(and i aplicate bluetooth patch). I also have a 1.5 motherboard made on March 7, 2020. I want to share with you the results I have tested for many hours of measuring LOG file analysis and acceleration tests with various Firmware and pedal settings. I've been working on it for over a week. Before I begin, I would like to thank Kingsong's amazing decision to allow the FW to be modified in specific cases for customer satisfaction. I really appreciate that, and Kingsong has risen to the top of the EUC segment. I really hope that the kingsong will not change and will remain at the forefront. Now to the most important thing that escaped almost everyone's fingers. The firmware behaves fundamentally differently in connection with the 1.4 VS 1.5 motherboard with which the KS16X is equipped. How do I know which control/mainboard I have a board? Just open the case and look. Or it can be found out from the serial number, in it the date for me was 190810 (v1.4) and the new background board is 200307 (v1.5). And the crucial date is September 9, 2019, when the motherboard v1.5 went into serial production. (this is date i found if somebody can confirm i be happy) Or easy way is if you stock Firmware was 1.07 you have propably mainboard v1.5 I wanted to think of it with tables, graphs and scientifically, but there was so much that I would just write it here with a sentence. Result For the KS16X with the v1.4 motherboard, the best firmware results are 1.05. FW 1.07 is also very good and usable, it is a matter of taste, but from a practical point of view 1.07 prevails with its benefits. If you want RAW power, take 1.05. If you prefer longer rides at higher speeds, take FW 1.07 Result For KS16X with motherboard v1.5 gives the best results firmware 1.07 or even FW based on it which is probably also 2.02 is also very good and usable but I have heard all too often caution overpower or 4 beeps even in situations and loads where other FW were silent even with the same Amperes and POWER checked according to the EUCWORLD LOG. It makes no sense to install FW 1.05 on the motherboard v1.5, you will not get any measurable benefit even in the braking distance of acceleration by nothing. I'm sure it's a safe FW 1.05 even on v1.5 but it doesn't fit the hardware as well as 1.07. supershort: MB v1.4 best fw 1.05 because braking, offroad, aceleration, 0 to 40 RAW feel. MB v1.4 FW 1.07 very adult FW for some riders i imagine can be beter with compare 1.05(not RAW is smooth feel) MB v1.5 if you install 1.05 is definetly downgrade keep FW 1.07(and propably newer FW) for best results no discusion here is just tested fact. Mainboard v1.4 vs v1.5 have diferent pedal hardnes/stiff v1.5 on same FW 1.07 is mutch harder compare to 1.4 same FW 1.07 After testing all Firmware on v1.4 as well as on v1.5 I personally kept v1.5 and FW 1.07 If I kept the mainboard 1.4 I would stay on fw 1.05 I was satisfied (and v1.5 + 1.07 is very close to v1.4 + FW1.05). I changed the 1.4 motherboard because it showed me a temperature of minus 16 degrees Celsius at room temperature. This may also be the reason why some riders had falls, perhaps because their motherboards did not report the temperature badly and then CUTOUT / OVERLEAN due to overheating. KS and the people thought it was Firmware. Check the temperatures at rest! I tracked the values through the Eucworld app lessons for all let's respect beeps and hardware revisions. I wish you all many happy miles on the KS16X. And I hope I've already fixed the confusion over this topic. And urban legends can remain in books and not in our heads.

Thanks for saving me the trouble. I wanted to test 1.0.5 and 2.0.2 all the time with my V1.5 board.
Tinkererboi
Thank you for your work! This is something i always wanted to know but never had the time or resources to test myself.
Mike Sacristan
Great work doing all this testing and writing all your finds. I appreciate it! Thank you!
travsformation
Excellent info, thanks! Explains a lot about discrepancies in user reports regarding same FW versions (but not taking MB version into account)
travsformation
So to present, no one has tried MB 1.4 with FW 2.02 right?
EUC Custom Power-Pads
I never tested the Control Board V1.4 with firmware 1.0.5, but only with 1.0.6 (absolute crap) and 1.0.7. After a new Control Board V1.5 I rode 1500 km only with 1.0.7 and I am thrilled until today. Of course there was always this urge to try the Ultimate Power Firmware 1.0.5, which was withheld from me. To get this enormous acceleration and the unrestrained power, as it should have been there originally. What kept me away was the faceplant risk. Every time someone updated from 1.0.5 to 1.0.7 and then downgraded back to 1.0.5 because 1.0.7 was supposed to be garbage, the urge was rekindled. I could save myself from this urge until today. As you can read above, I have already updated to 2.0.2 and am neither disappointed nor really excited, as nothing has changed positively in terms of acceleration and braking. Now I'm sitting here with my throttled 16X and still can't enjoy the pure power of this wheel. I've had enough of this, I want to finally meet the real 16X!!! So I thought, I have a good protection gear anyway, what do I care about the faceplant risk and the shitty lighting, I downgrade immediately to 1.0.5! I was so excited, I could hardly get dressed because of all the excitement and I went out for the big off-road tour until the tire burns.............. Up on the wheel, fully pressed into the power-pads and off we go. I was mentally so well prepared for the enormous thrust that I naturally leaned forward in Superman style so that I wouldn't fall backwards when accelerating. Luckily I had these power pads, otherwise I would have tipped forward in slow motion. Hmm, did I expect too much? False start? Well, let's slow down and accelerate not from a standing start, but while I'm already riding 10-20 km/h. Wow...what a surprise! Then the brake test! Just WOW! While I'm still digesting these two experiences, I also get that spongy pedal feeling as I turn around at the end of my road and ride home as fast as I can, run into my house, and press the "Upgrade to 2.0.2" button. In short: Firmware 1.0.5 is at least with Control Board V1.5 the biggest crap my 16X has ever seen! Nothing was better, rather worse, neither acceleration, braking and spongy pedal feel / tip over! Thank you this is confirmation what i found. FW1.05 is optimized for v1.4 board. 1.07(2.02) is optimised for v1.5 board.

I tried it yesterday and today and it was very nice. I have only tried it on the hardest mode though. 100km on it so far and really liking it. The pedals assist in uphill and downhill (including skate parks lol). Battery usage is higher. Very refined and polished ride. It's missing the raw grunt of 1.05 but it also makes for a more relaxing ride.
