deddycool
https://imgur.com/a/Wxhw0ns Hi all! I have a KS 18XL wheel and today I got an ugly distortion on the wheel because I run into a big put-hole on the road. It's annoying cause I can hear the wheel.touches the inside of the cover a little bit. Does anyone has same experience? Any idea how to fix it?

Bent rim....hmm....some have managed to gently bend it back into shape, but do consider that it won't conserve 100% of its structural strength. Hopefully others who have had the issue will pop by this thread and be able to help you more than me

Popular Post meepmeepmayer
As it is bent outwards, you can carefully bend it back with a bench vice (do not overbend). You will probably have to remove the motor from the wheel (not that bad on the 18XL as you can just slide it out without having to split the wheel) and the tire from the motor to fit it into the vice. Just look up some 18XL disassembly/tire change video, e.g. @Flyboy10 (Flyboy EUC on Youtube) has some, and find a friend with a bench vice (or you have one yourself). 48 minutes ago, travsformation said: but do consider that it won't conserve 100% of its structural strength As long as it doesn't bend again, its structural integrity is enough. EUCs are simple, if it works, it works. I've been riding on a un-bent and slightly cracked tire rim for like 5000km now and I feel no difference at all. - There have been various threads on bent rims, e.g. see here: https://www.google.com/search?q=site%3Aelectricunicycle.org+bent+rim

EUC Custom Power-Pads
Yes, rode it with this bend rim probably a few hundred kilometers and saw at by chance at the next cleaning.
WI_Hedgehog
Is a bent rim not much of a concern because: The tire has an inner tube, so the tire bead seal is not important? The EUC doesn't travel at automobile speeds, so perfect balance is not that critical?
redsnapper
i had a minor bend in rim on v8 and wheel had a serious wobble. mine had a lateral bend so maybe different effect... definitely noticeable!
