Storing PEVs on the balcony?

The question is initially for my wife’s electric kick scooter but it should apply to EUCs as well.

Would it be ok to store them on a covered balcony in continental weather? (read Paris)

Temperature shouldn’t be a problem, it is shielded from rain, however there is air humidity and pollution. The former is often around 50%, up to 80% when raining. I could bring the véhicules in when there is fog (90+%)

Any opinion? While humidity isn’t great the temps are low which would be good for the batteries.

Dew appears in the mornings, which can result in corrosion.

Good point. I’ll try to track this, being in the city there isn’t much earth to store humidity.

I'd think a main issue could be temperature *fluctuation*. Even if it doesn't get super cold overnight and/or super warm during the day, there's still a noticeable change, and that change day-in and day-out over time likely equals wear to a Li-ion battery, no?

Either way with everything I've been reading about Li-ion batteries the past year, I don't think I'd ever store an EUC anywhere except in a temp-controlled space.

Just don't do it if you care anyhow for device. I dont think storing even bicycle on balcony is a good idea (corrosion). Not to mention LiOn batteries.

The fluctuations are a good point indeed. I sort of suspected it wouldn't be ideal, just had to get some more opinions.
Luckily our devices are compact, especially the EUCs.

Between the temperature fluctuations and humidity, I don't think it's a great idea… I understand that scooters take up more space than EUCs, so if space is a concern, may I  suggest your wife learns to ride an EUC? ;)
