Inmotion V8 Kuji Pads (Ankle pads) mods

I've finished the Kuji pads mod follow instruction from Kuji Rolls https://youtu.be/NEFZmKrApLw

Modified a bit to avoid blocking V8's leds since his instruction is only for big wheel like V10, MSX, etc...

Do not looking for jump with V8, but seeking for more stability when riding.

Gonna test it soon and report the effectiveness :)

Latest updates:

- Adjust the upper pad for comfort.

- Reduce the ankle pads thickness to fit with my leg and need.

Do you need more stability when driving offroad (tricky paths over roots and stones) or on the road?

If for the road, then I think you're on the wrong way. Stability comes by itself when your brain and muscles have adjusted to it and not by clamping the wheel.

I'm the kind of riding with 1 leg stay very close with the wheel, without the protective cover, my ankle will point directly to the hard case, it's pretty uncomfortable.

So this is a kind of experiment to see if it help.

All so, I'm looking to the stability when do hard braking and riding over small bump on high speed. I heard that it help, just not sure how much :)

I uploaded the images to other host.

Add an updated image for the latest stage of the wheel:

- Reduce the knee pads thickness to fit with my leg and need. <--- Everyone legs are different with each other, so I need to adjust the thickness until it fit me.

- I still cannot jump, but this help me a lot when go up/down high curbs, my legs can grab the wheel and drag it up/down with me.

- This pads also help to ride without original cover, since riding with cover when it's dark reduce the wheel visibility (those led lights really help to show your present with other vehicle).

I think I tried something similar once and it didn't work for me :cry2: Now I am using the original InMotion oval pads to protect the ankles directly with one added layer of baby bumper padding. This works reasonably well for me.

I think mostly because the pedals of V8 is too narrow.
If the pad is thick enough to grab the wheel, our feet don't have enough space.
If the pad is thinner, then mostly it will use to rest the legs, not really provide much grabbing.

I have been using a minimalistic foam block of 70x70x25mm (LxHxW) placed right above the ankle for a while now. This actually works great.
