Inmotion V8 problems

Hello,

A couple of days ago I was creating new led themes using my Inmotion app and I was transfering them to my V8 wheel. After couple of trials it happend that most of the leds of one led stripe stopped shining. I looks like below:

I don't know what happened. Is it possible that the part of leds stripe broke down? Maybe I should reset the wheel. Does anybody know how to do it?

Thank you for any help,

How many themes did you upload? It has been reported that the memory of the wheel is limited and hitting the limit leads to rather unforeseen effects. So what you see might be the result of hitting the memory limit. Can't help for the reset question :-(

OK, I found something in a French forum you might try: when you turn on the wheel keep pushing the on button until you hear a voice. No guaranties from my side on the effects :P where my hunch would be that it leads to some sort of factory reset.

@Mono I just tried that with my Ninebot one E+, it cycled through the light settings without using the app!  Thanks, this is what I was asking for weeks ago when I mentioned easter eggs in our wheels.  It did not reset AFAIK, but it is not an Inmotion either.

Do you know how to reset a Ninebot?  Not that I want too, just fun to know things like that.

BTW, I had to google translate the French forums, it was not completely understandable, only that the person had some feeling of success.  As far as what the problem was, I am not sure, something wasn't working right and now it does:huh:

No idea, sorry. I can vaguely remember a trick of lying the wheel to/on the side while doing something (push some button?), but I don't even know whether this was with the Ninebot. In the above mentioned thread there was a problem with the LEDs and the sound of an V8 which was apparently solved by the above mentioned approach.

I remember that too, but which wheel, no.  But I tried it with my Ninebot, and the lights were blinking red and the beeps sounded like some kind of code, like beep beep beep bebeep beep beep beep bebeep.  Then I turned it off and will ride it tomorrow to see if anything seems different.  Thanks again for reminding me of that.

From the first week I have the problem with the lights. But now I also have it with the sound ... is there any way to restart the inmotion v8? I have disconnected the battery for a few hours, but the problem remains the same.

I tried to keep pushing the button while turning on the wheel but nothing happened. The only thing is that the front light turn on. I also tried to keep pushing the button while turning off and the front lights turn off.

Thank you for any suggestions.

The earliest batches of the V8 had the occasional failed LED strip. If you contact the seller of your Wheel, they should be able to arrange to send you a replacement. It's pretty easy to do, strips have adhesive applied, so it's just a matter of running them around groves.
