I chose the 18XL and I'm feel very good about the decision. I do a fair amount of long range touring in Japan and that wheel is great for the tarmac roads I ride on. My wheel has become my partner in crime. Euc in Kyoto, Japan is forbidden, I have to make my way out of the city to the outskirts before I can ride. No problem, I've come to enjoy the cops and robbers aspect of euc in Japan. Once I'm out of town I'm home free . I'm off on a tangent ... back to the topic. I don't care for off road riding.
