I keep my MSP 2500W (classic) until "new euc show in 2021" or veteran/leaper kim make torque version for 🐷 like me. Just to be clear the "20' inch speed joke" is already very well know", the rs speed motor spins around 97kmh and this speed is pretty accurate on GPS too (all msx/msp/rs family is pretty accurate becouse they are tweaked for 19' inch and they use a real 19 tire)Sherman has the same error too, you need to cut around 6-7% and you'll find the same 97-98kmh free spin speed ...EX has the same error too This is easy visible if you record some tour with EUC World, i'll provide you some example for reference: Sherman: https://euc.world/tour/594647654878236 RS: https://euc.world/tour/594166854800061 pedals are not so low and curb clearance is good, if you look at the Sherman is way lower and that's why this wheel is stable at speed.imho is good as it is 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

This is really annoying, because I'm also waiting for something with 2700wh+ and lots of low end torque. Heatsink: This is important for sustaining high loads; but for brief bursts, the size of the heatsink does not matter so much. It does not directly limit the motor current: if you were to put a larger heatsink but change nothing else, there would be no change in maximum current available. Battery: 6p LG M50T (EX:N battery) should be ok for 60A battery current, for the burst durations typical in offroad terrain. 4p MSupers would be a concern. Firmware: Yes, the 'limit' is defined by software... but you can't raise the limit beyond what the hardware can tolerate. It's technically possible to configure an existing controller to command 75A battery current... but the hardware will be destroyed quickly. So the firmware change must come with a hardware upgrade. Controller: The current must flow through the battery connector, conductive traces on the PCB, drive transistors, and out to the motor connectors. Everything in this circuit would need to be designed for higher current. EX:N uses a similar board to MSuper RS (12 FETs), mounted to a different-shape heatsink, and likely isn't improved much. Monster Pro debuted an 18-FET controller, which is an improvement... but the PCB traces and soldered battery input connection leads are still suspiciously small. Copper cables: The thinner the conductor, the more heat it dissipates when you force current through it. Luckily, if the current is only used for a short burst, there isn't enough time for the temperature to rise very high... but there is also minimal cooling, so repeated bursts or sustained loads can cause the temperature to rise steadily and result in melting of insulation and therefore short-circuits, or desoldering of soldered joints between cables (and there are many soldered joints). Motor windings: The DC resistance of the electrical part of the motor defines the maximum theoretical current. But this "stall current" is almost certainly >75A, and is prevented by the firmware in today's EUCs (because hardware would be damaged as discussed above). It means the motor would certainly accept more current at low speeds... allowing us to melt and damage lots of things (which is why the firmware limit is present). In my opinion (lacking insider info), I'd bet the controller burns first, if you took today's hardware to 60A battery current for a 2 second burst. Beefing up the controller design would likely improve this, even with the same <heatsink, battery, cables, motor>. And bear in mind what type of riding we're discussing, because it doesn't apply to everyone: For instance, Marty's overheat hill is something like a "25A current sustained for about 3 minutes." Today's hardware can usually do it, and more current is not helpful or necessary there. Instead, we're looking for more force during low-speed sudden maneuvers, where today's C30 EUC's dip or overlean. I encounter it with rooted or rocky terrain offroad, where the tire falls into a void between obstacles and needs a big impulse of power to claw its way over the rim of the pit. Also from my experience, I think heavy riders often have a different problem than 'not enough force' - and that's overheating the control board during sustained climbs. This is the overheat hill scenario. Larger heatsinks and lower dissipation (more/larger FETs) help resolve overheating; higher current doesn't help. But the cable length may be not long enough to reach the controller position in the EX shell, be sure to ask before you buy one. (Measure yours, and ask the seller to measure theirs) How did you manage to damage your EX.N motor? (Usually the controller dies first...) Popular Post Scottie888 Posted April 26, 2021 Popular Post Share Posted April 26, 2021 My bad if I'm incorrect as I come from the dino world where 1000cc or 350 cu.in is as described (+/- whatever) but in the elec motor world, the wattage is a dynamic number as outputted by its controller. If I understood correctly, the motor wattage is not really significant as a 2000w motor can be 1500w or 2500w or even 5000w via the controller. AFAIK there's nothing at issue with the RS c30 motor per se other than its bearings. Indeed if I read correctly, its praised for its smooth power.
