Popular Post Oleg Artene
Total Mileage Spoiler Bearings change At about 1000km I got caught in a heavy rain and the bearings started making metal scratching noise, so I changed them. Used this video as reference. Working fine since then. Spoiler Broken plastic screw mounts Inmotion V8 doesn't have these kind of mounts and the plastic ones are fragile. I also contributed to breaking by tightening the screws too much after first repair. I fixed them with plastic glue gun. Spoiler Controller cover mounts are also broken Spoiler Water under battery Under battery there is crack protected only with a piece of tape. I replaced the tape with double tape, and glued the crack from outside with shoe glue. Everything is clean after last inspection. Spoiler After last inspection New tire Original 1.95 tire got worn and I changed it to a 2.125 one. The ride is more comfortable but in mud and small stones it scratches the case because there is very little space left. Spoiler Removed led strips I think because of rain/water one side of led strips stopped working and I removed them completely (anyway I was not using them). I did put some reflective tape. Spoiler Installed V10 pedals on V8 Bought the pedals here. Spoiler Dropped pedals Not sure if they actually dropped or I got used to my new wheel KS18L pedal angle. Anyway I had to fix them because they are really too horizontal. Other riders also have this problem. Spoiler Controller heatsink sealing leaking water I was watching this video and was thinking that I will never go this far in repairing, that my wheel doesn't have this problem. But today after riding in light rain I decided to inspect the wheel and found water in controller (thank you, rain, for spotting the problem). Also the plastic between heatsink and pedal mount was cracked. I glued it but I think it will crack back anyway, so I did put a lot of sealant there. Spoiler Installed heatsink back on and changed thermal paste. Crashes I've had about 5 big crashes and about 50 wheel drops. All crashes because of me being distracted or not focused enough. Luckily no broken bones, only scratches and bruises because of not wearing gear. Now I wear full-face and all the stuff (except body armor). The controller never failed (only once it didn't started after riding in rain and washing the wheel too much). Spoiler P.S. V8 was my first wheel. Now I sold it and my main wheel is Kingsong 18L. P.P.S. You can watch how we ride in Chișinău/Moldova. FlyingWigs
Are the stock V8 pedals the same inside as the V10 pedals? They're not solid?

They have similarities in the inside. but V8 pedals are smaller and different shaped. And most pedals are not solid unless they are a hex design. V8 pedals tend to appear stronger vs V10 pedals. It might also be that with V8 being less powerful wheel it is not use as much by heavy people. V10 pedals has changed over production time to make them stronger, but they do not fit the V8. As for the V8f I do not recall, as I don't have a V8f.
FlyingWigs
I was thinking about making the V8 pedals bigger and using part of the original ones as a base to screw onto, but I thought it was solid I have enough aluminum to make whole new ones, just was hoping for a shortcut!
