I've been riding my 16X rain or shine for the past 1350 miles with no issues. I wouldn't ride the wheel through deep puddles but besides that go for it. The controller has a conformal coating and all the wiring has nice connectors. I don't see an issue with winter riding on these. I live in Portland Oregon so I'll definitely be putting the wheel to the wet test this winter.

Hello, is your wheel still holding up well after riding in heavy rains? Got stuck in a huge storm on mine yesterday and was worried about it. It randomly turned on the speaker and light last night so idk what that was about lol.

Bring a plastic bag with you when you ride and if you get caught in hvy rain bag the sucker! Speed and wind can force rain into unexpected areas. Why take a chance bricking your machine when there is such a cheap and ez option...

Just a friendly reminder:

Thick grease layer, i mean THICK, THICK.. Layer around axle, bearings. Will save them from water ingress.

Also using something like: "Backpack Waterproof Cover" will protect the wheel from rain. I'm using it when it's poring buckets of water.

It has amazing rubber band, and many colors.. Simply pop it over the wheel and Go-Go-Go. :efee6b18f3:

(For my 18xl i'm using 20L size bag, 15L would be better.)
