I have one which uses  the standard 67.2 volt 170wh battery pack. Have tried it for an hour and landed on my butt/back twice already. I still cannot get my balance right and would need plenty of practice until it clicks.

Can you share some videos? ;)

We are too busy enjoying our EUC's at the moment. It might take some time before I could ride this thing properly. 170hw could take me to around 15kms and the manufacturer claims that Panasonic batteries were installed in the system.

No answer from e-skate-boards.co.uk here for the voltage battery.

I found the exact same skateboard on facebook, search for Carol Chen  (reseller). She sells the skateboard which has those specs

4400mAh, 36V, 18kph max speed, 16km range, quite different from 26kph and 21km announced by e-skate-boards.

I prefer to believe Carol Chen who answered me.

@SlowMo where did you get yours? what are the specs? how much did you pay? it looks like some companies in china are cloning the design from http://hoverboard.com/ which is scheduled to sell in July for an astronomical price. well, despite your slow start I think it might be another hit once they iron out the design/engineering details.... if riding a unicycle feels to me a bit like skiing through the city, this might be the equivalent of snowboarding.

I got mine for an Alibaba Seller. Whatsapp no.: +8613802704662. Bargain with him for a sample. There are two types. One is maple wood and the other is metal frame enclosed in plastic. I think it cost me around $520.00 shipped for the Maple wood unit.

@SloMo.

What are your impressions about that maple wood skateboard?

You've got the 174Wh version , right? A 340Wh version is available now.

Sorry, I just read again your previous messages,  you've got the 170Wh version.

@SlowMo, from the pitifully low voltage battery and your difficulties riding it, am I reading correctly that this doesn't have the torque to self balance like an EUC? In other words you first have to balance it yourself like a seesaw and then slight leaning will get it moving?

If that is the case, it sounds like they've ruined what should have been a really fun machine. I can't see how it can be viable without enough torque to hold the rider level?

.If you have experience riding a skateboard, then this thing will be easy as pie. I bought a manual skateboard just to learn how to balance sideways since I had no prior experience.  I haven't really had any progress since our time is spent mostly on enjoying our EUC's. at the parks.

The balancing mechanism of this unit is exactly the same as that of an EUC except that you are positioned sideways. The battery is  67v 174wh pack with Panasonic cells .

@SlowMo, Thank you power should be fine then.

I think the confusion in this thread is that there are already a whole raft of clones appearing and I think several entirely different devices are being described. one post above states they have a 36V 4400mAh pack which is (IMHO) too low to ride safely. I notice in your video they appear to have a thin wheel like one wheel off of a Hoverboard, where as, others I've seen have a big fat wheel like it's off of a golf buggy (Onewheel), the fat wheel makes real sense to me as it eases the left right balance.

I really like the idea of them and would love to have a go - but probably not enough to go and buy one ;-).

Funny story: a couple of years ago (well before my EUC) my 20 year old daughter bought a skateboard to ease her 1 mile walk to work through a park. When I ribbed her for finding it difficult to ride she challenged me to do better. After I rode up and down the footpath a couple of times, she never used it again. I did used to ski, snowboard and windsurf but last time I did any of them was 1988!

Wow! I haven't even dreamt of doing those things. For sure I would learn this thing but it might take some time since I'm a very slow learner and the EUC's are always there to interrupt the learning process.

I am thinking of buying this

http://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/25km-h-Samsung-Battery-One-Wheel-Electric-Skateboard-Scooter-10-inch-Hoverboard-Bluetooth-Smart-Balance-Board/1397493_32614731554.html

it has 10inch wheel. Air tire. I own 6.5inch hoverboard and the ride is bad compared to my friends with air tires. I need to go over dirt roads and island terrain. youtube vids look excellent. real world footage. I could never recommend the 6.5 inch sbu skateboard. they are hoverboards from china reconfigured to look cooler in form factor.

Any thoughts forum users?
