I speak in my language, I express myself in my language, which is how I do it correctly, in translations the message is lost, whoever is interested in having it translated, I don't know English

I know it seems like an arbitrary rule, but when you post in EN you expand the number of people that can read it. I don't use Chrome so don't have automatic translation. Rather than viewing it as a restriction, think about it as a way to reach a much wider audience (that includes people in the US that have stimulus money burning holes in our pockets).

Let’s put it in perspective, the forum has run this way for years and, in all that time, nobody else has complained.

So we have hundreds of users from all over the world and one person who doesn’t like the way the forum works - enough said really - or as Spock would say:” The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few”!

Hi,

This is how I do my writing for a post here on the forum, using Google Translate:

  • I write my text on Google Translator in Swedish.
  • Then I click for a translation into Finnish and after that into English.
  • If Google Translate came to the same result in both languages, I know that the translation is quite close to the truth.
  • Now I click on the two arrows above in the middle of the two frames to move the translation in english to the left.
  • Then I listen to the English translation. If everything sounds good, I take a copy of it to use it on the forum.

Sometimes I also search for synonyms or try to simplify the English text.
The best result is achieved if you can speak several languages yourself. Google Translate uses English grammar as the basis for translation and does not understand cultural nuances.
