erk1024
My daughter is 16 years old and 120 pounds, and could use a convenient way to get home from high school. She has a locker at school that she could stash it in. She's build like a bean pole, so it can't be too heavy (30 pounds or less). I asked her to get measurements of locker. It seems like good choices would be: InMotion V5f - inexpensive, light, small and a nice little useful wheel KS14D - light, small MTen3 - super small, fast, fun but a bit less road-worthy due to the small wheel What do you guys think? Is there anything I should watch out for with these models? Edited May 6, 2019 by erk1024
LanghamP
Having ridden both the V5 and the KS14d, I'm a big fan of both, and both are great choices. However, I did stuff the V5 into a locker, and while it fit there wasn't room for anything else. Wheels are much bigger than you think. People think of wheels as toys until they pick the damned thing up, and then it's not a toy; it's a vehicle, namely an eBike that's been squished but still with the weight. Can the edge of any of these wheels be safely drilled in order to put a bike lock through them? Perhaps @Jason McNeil would know if that adversely affect the magnets or something unforseen. Finally, don't forget the power of the urban bike. Here's one I might buy. https://www.prioritybicycles.com/products/ltrain And if you want electric... https://wingbikes.com Note the discount makes it under $1000. null
The IPS I5 is slim and only 7,7Kg, though doesn't have a trolley. edit: the body is unibody aluminium and could allow a lock through the handle.
