Help to downgrade my KS14D to Firmware 1.01

Hello,

I bought a KS14D. It has the Firmware 1.02 on it. There are many pushbacks without any sound before.

I heard that it is possible to downgrade to 1.01.

Could someone send me the correct Firmware 1.01 and tell me how it works.

Thank you in advance.

Firstly - welcome to the forum, you should find plenty of information to help you here.

secondly, please ensure you post in the correct section - this was posted in "forum rules" which it clearly is nothing to do with. I've moved it to "Kingsong"

Thirdly, this has been asked before - please take a look in the Kingsong section, you will probably find the answer you are looking for.

Hi! This was imho possible with firmware versions of the previous models (a/b/c) - one would need the image of the desired firmware version and set up a dns server and ?file/http? Server with this image - or something like this.

This was described in some topic here imho ...

Since with ks16s by now no firmware upgrades are possible also no firmware images are available?

@ToffeeGirl, @Skipper_65

On the android phones there should be some ?.json or .jason? file with the http addresses of the actual firmware files.( maybe you need a rooted android phone to access this?) If you find there a link to a 1.01 firmware for your KS14D you can download it, edit the ?.json/jason? file on your android phone, set up a dns server to point this address to you own http server, put there the 1.01 firmware (?renamed to 1.03?) and this should/could work...

Or there was some numbering/sequence in the file, so the app knew if and when to update? But there where ?one/some? topics in this forum describing these steps in more details, also imho for ninebot firmware downgrades some similar techinques where described here in detail.

edit: ps.: @ToffeeGirl - to notify some other member here, you have to use the drop down box after typing the @ sign (and you can type some of the first letters to limit the results) and choose the name from the drop down box - then you get this notification with the blue background.

... but it does not work everytime ... ;(

Here in this thread is an pdf...how it exactly works!

Not easy at all..rooted phone...set up a server...you need the old firmware...

Thanks! Seems i remembered quite something :D - just the DNS server is not necessary - it's done with the hosts file on the phone and the .json file is on the webserver and not in the app directory...

Just took a look at the actual versions.json file - there is only a link to the new 1.02 firmware for the KS14D and the link is "http://apkdomain.duapp.com/kingsong/14D.bin". So since they have no numbering scheme on the server for the firmware binaries is seems that they only host the newest versions...

So @ToffeeGirl and @Skipper_65 would have to find someone who downloaded the 1.01 version of the bin file when it was available... (if it was ever available at all). As far as i know there is no way to get a firmware image of a wheels motherboard...

Maybe you find someone in the french EUC forum http://trottinetteselectriques.heberg-forum.fr or in the russian EUC forum http://electrotransport.ru who did this by time - maybe our members here also know some more forums to look at?

Edit: PS: So you should at least download and keep the actual 1.02 firmware binaries if you upgrade to 1.03 too fast expecting some advantages... So you could at least go back to 1.02...

:)Thank you for the answers and the help.

I have a Android Phone but it is not rooted and I can't find the 1.01 file.

If there will be a 1.03 firmware for KS14D I hope it will be better ;)

I have a KS14C too and there is always a sound before a pushback even if the battery is lower and the speed is limited. So I can go slower before a pushback comes.
