Need help Posted July 8, 2015 Share Posted July 8, 2015 I have a wheel that I can't take away from the access of an outlet I'm new to this and am still using training wheels and at times still lose it and the machine takes a little jolt , nothing craZy no scratches or anything to speak of from these accidents but my machine turns off and won't turn on until I plug it in just for a moment, this is frustrating be cause I would like to go places where I may not be abil to just run in my house and plug it in also when I have been places where I can't plug it in I have noticed if I wait a long time it will turn on, I have a generic brand , is there maby a reset or something? esaj Posted July 8, 2015 Share Posted July 8, 2015 Sounds like the BMS-issue, the over discharge protection cuts the power when the voltage drops momentarily too low, and won't reset until the charger has been plugged in. There are instructions on bypassing it here: http://forum.electricunicycle.org/topic/459-electric-unicycles-bms-problem-and-solution/But you should take care and read the topic through, apparently it can raise the probability of the batteries catching fire (although it seems it will still be very rare)... personally, my Firewheel has shunted BMS (ie. bypassed the protections), and I'm not overly worried of it catching fire or anything. There are other protections in the cells themselves, and usually the fire should only occur if the cell is punctured or overheated a lot (depending on cell chemistry, the thermal runaway occurs around 150-250 degrees C?
