OliverH
Regarding articles BT5 will be announced next week. What does it mean to EUCs? http://www.macrumors.com/2016/06/10/bluetooth-5-4x-speed-and-doubling-range/
Rehab1
Good article! 2x increased speed and 4x range will be great for certain applications such as file transfers and communications but I cannot at the moment envision how these 2 improvements will affect the ECU industry. Would be nice to have real time alerts on my cell phone such as tire pressure and overheating that would require additional sensors.
esaj
One thing that BT5 could maybe make possible would be higher sampling rate for telemetry. Although I'm not sure whether it's currently limited by the bandwidth (what is the transfer speed of BT4 anyway? ), or just that the STM32-chips (that most wheels seem to use) run "only" at somewhere around 72-100MHz, so the chip isn't fast enough by itself for high sampling rates while at the same time controlling the motor etc...
