Popular Post Cerbera Posted May 31, 2023 Popular Post Posted May 31, 2023 (edited) Yes it's that season again when the brambles go mental and hang about in our ride paths, ready to lay us dramatically low if we are not careful ! 2 examples of hanging death-traps from today's ride that were fortunately both seen in time ! I'm not exaggerating, these can be horrendous. If you are VERY lucky, and don't see one, you'll hit it just right, and it'll brush over you and not rip anything with its horrible thorns... If you are moderately lucky it will catch you a bit and rip any cloth bits of your armour or overcoat it touches, but will then let you go... If you are unlucky, it'll be one of those massive thorn ones that can catch and hold you, meaning you will be wrenched backwards off the wheel, which will continue without you ! I've been got once by these over-reaching little sods, and remain ever-vigilant ever since ! Tomorrow I will go back with secateurs and fuck their shit right up Bastards. If I am not careful I'll spend more time tidying up outdoors than I do riding ! i think it's because I recently hit 50 years old.
