Nostris
Anyone have want to share their techniques for mounting and starting your wheel on an uphill slope? I live up a hill and if I have to dismount half way up , I find it difficult to get some forward momentum going sometimes. Usually, where it’s wide enough, I start and mount across the road and then turn to go up. Any ideas?.
Tawpie
There are definitely times when starting sideways and turning back up the hill is the only way. But you just have to get yourself really forward, it's almost like you're going to step over the front of the wheel.
Cerbera
Same here - I also live on a bigly sloped drive. I dislike remounting half way up it so much that if I have to stop I usually remount going back down it, bang a U-ey at the bottom and start it again ! You could try softening your ride mode so the pedals help you to lean forward more ?
Paul A
Maybe try, with the mounted leg......bending the ankle and knee a lot..... so that the knee is thrust very far forward.....body is over the wheel, and more forward than usual......push off with the other leg, and ride as per normal. The Brahan Seer
I place the heel of my foot at the front of the pedals and go up that way. I can't remember if I do that with both feet or only one.
