Stumbled upon this thread and got nervous, so I had to check my charging board as well. I had the same charging board as the one that burned. Luckily I was also shipped a replacement along with the display fix part, and changing the charging board wasn't too bad. Though I kind of had to force the new one into place, it was a very snug fit.

If there was a short it's possible that battery packs are damaged too, I think in this scenario warranty should cover a whole new wheel.
