Popular Post Eye in the Sky
I got fed up with the poor suspension on my Master (even with the Kuba linkage/Rock Shox Monarch) so I made some modifications to effectively extend the travel to 125mm. It makes a huge difference. The are quite few bits to make but the results are worth it for me as I want to ride some fairly rough terrain. Details of the upgrade can be found here if anyone's interested. 😀 https://youtu.be/NtrldW7PCJc?si=KCBaYZclNoOm0KTr 5
GottaWay
So can a master v4 use a 200mm eye to eye shock or does it need to be a 190mm? I'm hearing you lose 10mm of travel with a 190mm. Was going to use a DNM DV22AR with a 750lbs spring on the latest begode oem brackets.

Any luck? Did you try 200? Got the V3 master and the EMA linkage.

Grimm10
Just get an aftermarket set of brackets that allow a different/longer stroke than the Begode brackets and end your anguish. I bought the Hoopite brackets combined with a 200mm FastAce shock with a 550lb spring and compression/rebound adjustments. I realize that the added price to mod the wheel isn't great, but it's better than suffering and wishing you had a different wheel altogether. I truly feel that the Master is a great wheel that many will realize as years go by.
Popular Post Magman116
I went down the route of buying different springs for the stock air shock trying to get the suspension to where it was what I wanted for me. After several springs up to 1800lbs I decided to get different shocks. I got coil a over shock and a better air shock and while it was better, it still isn't where I want it. So I moved on to getting aftermarket suspension linkage arms. I put on the EMA linkage with a DNM burner shock with a 450lb spring and that changed everything. Now I had something workable. I spent time tuning the suspension to get the most out of it for me. I used the 200mm linkage and a modified DNM burner shock. I have been very happy with it for the last 1500 miles. I still wish it was a little softer, but when I made it softer, it would bottom out on jumps. So, I have it set to a happy median. After all the suspension changes, I added 30mm lower blocks to the pedals, and that turned my Master into a nearly perfect wheel for me. I had increased acceleration and high speed stability, and still had plenty of ground clearance for landing the bigger jump. I just had to watch out for rock or roots sticking up. So, for your suspension, I would get the EMA linkages or the Hoopite linkages, they are way better than the stock ones. 3
