chobot
Hey EUC fam, I'm new to this community and was wondering if there are any grassy / football fields to practice riding in Capitol Hill or places in Seattle people would advise to try out and ride. i'm just learning turns for now and am looking for a hill i can practice on since Seattle is hilly. Going up and down cherry street is pretty intense on my Onewheel downtown, it took me a month to conquer that but would love to do that on my Nikola. p.s. also looking for smoother paths to downtown Seattle from Cap Hill. Thanks in advance! -chobot Edited February 3, 2020 by chobot
Matt Sol
The turf field in Cal Anderson park is a great place to practice new skills. Turf will be a lot easier to navigate than grass since it's smooth and consistent. I'm not sure about a good practice hill, I never practiced hills specifically, just rode around a bunch until I got more comfortable. Your nikola will crush hills compared to a onewheel so I wouldn't worry about it much. As far as good riding spots, my favorite is the Burke Gilman trail since it's very long, smooth, isolated from cars and well maintained. Other good spots for shorter rides are Greenlake and the Arboretum. Unfortunately bike lanes are very hit and miss, so usually I just ride in the streets downtown. I commute to downtown from Northgate so I don't ride in Cap Hill much. Maybe there's a route I don't know about.

brockj
Not in Cap Hill, but starting from Olympic Sculpture Park, head to northwards on the bike trail which goes through a series of parks (Myrtle, Centennial, Elliot Bay) and goes further up to Interbay. Then crossing Ballard Locks, you can go up to Golden Gardens park or travel the Burke Gilman to Gasworks and UW and.... Ok I'll stop 😄
