  1. I think it's also worth mentioning that the NYC S20 incident was after a fairly substantial collision with an ebike. Regardless, shouldn't have happened, but for the purposes of using it as data in the current circulation issues it might be completely unrelated.
  2. I assumed they're building them now and it takes a month to ship. They ship to the west coast so depending on who they use it could be as fast as 15 days. But who knows I'm not expert in this type of supply chain lol.
  3. I said to hold off, but didn't cancel it. From the emails it seemed like there was four options. Ship, Cancel, Hold and wait to see what they and KS find or do, and wait till next batch coming 5-6 weeks. But maybe the third option is just my interpretation. I said I would hold off till next batch, but that if they found a simple fix (opening up each to check) then I would take one from this batch. Super bummed, just like you but I still want the wheel. I'm hoping there's a check and see and we'll ship option.
  4. I started not long ago and after a lot of great advice here decided on the v10f. It's been super fun and was very easy to learn on. Definitely quality built and I love riding it. That said I bought the wheel with the knowledge that I was passing it on to my wife kind of quickly. I've ordered a S22 for my second wheel. The 18xl might last you longer as your first wheel like Tawpie said. It is 500 more than the v10f brand new so if you're thinking that maybe you might upgrade relatively soon then maybe finding a used v10f is worth saving some money on (assuming used prices are fairly relative) and go that route. The 18xl will take you farther and is probably like 5-6 mph faster. Either way both solid choices with good records from when I was looking into it. PS I'm 6'2" 240.
  5. This thread is 159 pages long... I think we can spare a few pages for one of the bigger shipments of the wheel about to take place...
  6. In one of the emails I received they had said this: Q: Has there been an independent QC inspection for these machines?A: Yes, we sent in an inspection team to validate the core functions, check that the battery packs were able to attain ~1V of the 126V max voltage spec, test the suspensions & oversee the in-house test/assembly processes.
  7. I don't think it's bad business. It happens in a lot of motor sports. This just adds another dimension being straight from customs. I'd be more angry at the usual cluster of CA shipping. I'd venture to guess Jason and crew are grinding their teeth right now.
  8. I ordered a S22 from ewheels. Also got the email about shipping monday. Fedex still has just the label printed and nothing picked up yet.
  9. Somehow you tricked him into thinking about you on a euc forum. But that is what the comment section below is for. Roll the intro! Love the vids
  10. Thanks! I wouldn't want to ride in the rain. Does that count wet roads after rain? Is the Rs19 HS good or is the HT superior? I've thought a lot about the Sherman and that might be the way I go, but I was also considering rolling the dice on the V13, even though release isn't for a while. If you want to pm me the details on the EX I may be open to that if I do decide to roll the dice on the V13.
  11. Street with some off road, mostly rail trails gravel etc. I've been doing a 5 mile loop the last couple days that's mostly street with some gravel drives with elevation changes. Not really interested in tricks or jumps outside of hopping the occasional curb. I don't mind waiting for the v13 but as mentioned the monster seems to be a fairly proven platform as well as the Sherman.
  12. We just got back from NH/Cape Cod and I practiced there on the trails and streets/parks. My wife started learning as well. It's been 5 years since I uploaded a video, so forgive the clumsiness of it. I used stock music that's way too upbeat for what we were doing lol but I just threw it together. It is what it is, but I wanted to give an update. I like seeing those things in threads when I'm looking. I already want more, I'm consistently bumping up against the max speed and feeling comfortable when I get the wobbles. Still super fun and I think the perfect wheel for my wife. Suggestions on what to get next?
  13. I hit a manhole cover that was depressed probably 3 inches in the road today. I didn't see it due to a distraction and being in the shade of a tree. I was most worried about bending the rim (didn't fortunately). But yes exactly as you describe if a truck goes by me it gets sketchy. You're 6 inches taller than me, I can't even imagine! I just need to decide what to order. I'm not really in a rush. I'm putting up a video in my original thread. She practiced today again but is hesitant to let go of my hand even though she's not putting any weight on it now. I might have to just let go but I don't want her to get discouraged. Tis the way of things.
  14. Ahh you're right, it's Ireland that requires one.
