  1. I agree but I will also add that the tire and the shot looks very under inflated as well by how far it's depressing against the stair.
  2. Curious see what happens with your backplates, I may ask for the .stl when you're done 😊 On the shock, sounds good I will also see how it goes for you then possibly buy one. I actually have my tire at 32 psi and I still think it feels great, maybe it's my extra weight at 100 kg flattening the profile a bit.
  3. Thanks for the info man, much appreciated. Definitely agree on the shock, a fancier one is just a neat cheap (if time consuming) upgrade, but really the stock shock feels great to me and I'm about 100 kg. Going to take it on some actual trails later this week hopefully, but zipping around the neighborhood curves and rough grass etc is so much fun on it, so much power and so smooth. I also agree on the tire, I was just riding 5 min before reading this and had to smile at you having the same perspective as me... really not sure what the fuss about the tire sucking is, was of course thinking about this on my ride and just couldn't feel the issue. I can carve just fine with it (feels like any other wheel to me, maybe slightly more dipping at the far lean of the carve) and it is amazing off road. Maybe it's certain riding styles/weights that it bothers, who knows. Overall I think the Hero is really a cool wheel. I'm also hearing it's more torquey than the Kingsong S20 based on early comparisons on YouTube.. surprising.
  4. Have my Hero and love it so far! Curious to hear about the shock too, need to know if it's 35 or 50 mm travel. Not planning on changing it right away or anything, stock shock feels great to me. The shocks are cheap though so I'll probably buy one and swap it out as a little fun project at my first tire change.
  5. I think the days of expecting a 3600Wh wheel for anything below maybe $3400 are long gone, can't blame Begode for that though, simply battery supply and demand.
  6. Sorry you had issues with them, all of my experiences have gone very well from ordering the Mten3, to the EXN motor, to this MPro, so for me it hasn't been a roll of the dice unless the dice are loaded lol 😅. I believe the new Begode batteries have a better BMS as well, these have a QR sticker and testing info with Sep 2021 production date and the quality of the wheel overall is stellar. From this latest experience, I would absolutely continue to recommend the store and aside from the batteries (I wonder how much safer the eWheels batteries actually are... clearly it's a marketing point and way to draw business for eWheels from other retailers so they're going to claim it's a huge difference.. would love to see a detailed comparison they have made, I have not seen one) I feel like I got an excellent deal. The only thing I see from eWheels about their batteries is here and it's dated; Begode uses LG 21700 cells these days and maybe Panasonic or Samsung from what I've read, but they're not using generic Chinese cells. I do understand the pack construction and BMS is a large factor but eWheels makes no comment on that I can find; looks like their packs are assembled in China from what photos I've seen. As an aside, what's the freespin speed on your MPro? Mine is 60.7 mph in EUC world which I think is latest motor rev, curious what others get.
  7. I order from a lot of AliExpress sellers and I talked to Wheel Riders Store about this out of curiosity/to possibly help you; they talk directly to Begode and said they can get a motor. If you're interested shoot them a message and they'll take care of you. Personally I've had great experiences with them. Wheel Riders Store
  8. Definitely would buy locally more often if the prices were closer or cheaper as you say, but that's never been the case in my experience. Wish it was!
  9. Of course there's risk but the reality is with many Western retailers you pay for the service and less risk up front; this monster pro was ~$800 cheaper from Chicway... the most expensive component is the motor which is around $750. Thus, if I have no problems (and please see my videos unboxing and impressions... the wheel is absolutely beautiful), I just end up saving $800 that I can use if an issue does arise or for whatever else. When you deliberately pay a lot more up front for "support and service", you're also taking a risk that you may be paying in advance for something you'll never need. I've purchased wheels from eBay (AMG studios) , AliExpress (Loomo Wheel Store, intelligent walking store, Wheel Riders Store), and Chicway directly at Chicway.shop and have saved tons of money and not had any issues 2,000+ miles later. Hard to convince me I should have spent thousands more for "support and service". My EXN was $2300 shipped WITH cast Begode pedals when all United States sellers were charging $2999 plus tax with NO pedal upgrade; they wanted another $240 for pedals. So again, in a single wheel I saved nearly $1,000.
  10. Some more detailed video and first impressions of my Chicway Monster Pro! Spoiler alert: I wasn't scammed 😂😂😂 Monster Pro Rambling first impressions
  11. Thanks for sharing man! Looks very similar to mine except of course I have Begode batteries. I suppose I should fully open the shell to check connections, surprising eWheels didn't do that well when they installed the packs in yours..? Have the same pedal drop issue with the (beautiful) Begode CNC pedals I put on, planning to add a magnet just like you did. At my height and weight 6'4 230 ish the wheel feels awesome, have no trouble turning and contact feels solid at around 34 PSI. As you have already observed, this wheel is much more of a higher speed cruiser than any kind of torque machine. I had it out last night cruising around 30-35 just exploring and I absolutely enjoyed it, very much in love with the special feel of this wheel so far. Here's an appropriately titled and rambling video of me talking about it and showing some of the exterior details after riding last night: PharmaCyclist Rambling about Monster Pro Cool you noticed my name, I actually was using it long before EUC riding as I'm really into road cycling as well; funny when I read about the cyclists that hate EUC riders, it's not all I swear lol 😂 I'm a pharmacist analyst these days, really enjoy it and don't miss clinical practice too much. Best of luck to you on the PA program, that's an excellent career path!
  12. Okay good point I'll have to adjust it lol! Think I just got lazy about it after I put it on. I have the spacers but will loosen, lube, and loctite like you mention. 🙂
  13. I ordered a kit on AliExpress, works pretty well but pedal action is not the same, they are stiffer to unfold and fold back. I can see Shane's point about it getting in the way, I don't ride my mten enough for it to bother me. Here's where you can buy the kit, price has increased a bit since I ordered: US $57.99 | Gotway Mten3 original push rod trolley handle bar spare parts accessories Mten 3 https://a.aliexpress.com/_mMiRzPA
  14. Interesting, seems odd that Begode would reduce the torque of the motor with the potential cutout issues. Wrong Way leaned hard and I'm sure the soft mode did it in as you say (saw the video). I'm definitely heavier than him so will take it easy accelerating. Would be neat if someone had a dyno setup to actually test these motors objectively.
