The glory days of cars are over when you had empty roads everywhere and that feeling of freedom while driving. Yet we arent advanced enough yet to have cars that drive themselves. Gimlet Posted July 4, 2016 Share Posted July 4, 2016 I'm totally hooked on electric cars now and not for any silly eco warrior reasons. The torque is just fantastic. I even swapped my 5.0 litre V10 Touareg Altitude in for a BMW i3 last month. Ugly as it is it's great fun to drive with a 0->60 time of under 7 seconds, an even more impressive 0->30 in time of under 3 seconds, 170bhp, 184lb-ft of torque at 0 rpm, rear wheel drive, 50/50 weight distribution and most of that weight below the axles in the battery under the floor, plus a great turning circle with very direct steering makes it like driving a go cart.
