Repair question

Good morning everyone!
A friend's segway (the "hoverboard" type") just broke after hiting a wall. The jonction at the center broke, and I would like to know if any of you knows in which material this part is made of. It looks like metal but it's very light and not magnetic, maybe aluminum? If so, is it possible to weld it if breaks?

Thanks a lot guys

You can find some parts online.  Here's one example (dunno if they are any good) below.  Now, I don't know if the parts are all universal so I would check first before ordering.  I'm guessing the axle shaft swivel part is broken.  One alternative might be to repair it, but I don't know how strong the weld would be.

That part of the hoverboard is usually made of aluminum or magnesium alloy.

If you have an option, always choose magnesium alloy over aluminum. Magnesium is a little bit lighter, bu a lot more solid.

However, I'm not sure you will be able to fix the hoverboard.. You might have to change the whole frame
