Stock 5A chargers, what min fan CFM should one use?

It's a general and specific question all in one.

The fan in the stock 5A charger for the Lynx is quite loud, I'm looking online for alternatives to switch it out.

The original fan in the Lynx is a 50x50x15mm 12V 0.25A DC Brushless Fan, model number is LWYX5015 which I can not find anywhere on the internet.

Finding similar fans is easy but the question is what is the min CFM (Air Flow) one can use for a 5A power supply? I have no idea what minimum air flow should be in a device such as this, the whole purpose of the fan is to cool the electronics so air flow feels like an important factor? But it also goes hand in hand with noise.

Calling experts @Chriull @RagingGrandpa and others, anyone have any idea?

50x50x15 fans are usually way less powerful, the only one that has power draw in the same range as the one you mentioned that I found is this:

https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/cui-devices/CFM-5015BF-175-423-20/15765131

The CFM of this one reads 19.5 (0.546m³/min), and noise 42.3dB(A), if that helps.

In this size I don't think you'll find anything quieter - might be able to undervolt it a bit to match the power with the one you have (down to 3W), and that might help a little with noise.

Alternatively, if you are willing to jury-rig a bigger one to the charger, the noise should always improve for same CFM (provided it's comparable quality) if you use a bigger fan. IIRC Sunon are regarded as among the best ones, you can look through their catalog and there should be quite a few options.

Plenty of quieter ones if you can go lower on the air flow. 😅

Found this one which is 18,7 CFM (0,524m³/min) and 38,1dB(A): https://www.digikey.se/sv/products/detail/cui-devices/CFM-5015V-172-381/7605457

I switched the fan to a very quiet one on my MSP stock charger that I sold long ago but I don't remember how many AMPs that charger was, 3A or 5A? It was this fan and it worked fine:

13,8 CFM (0,386m³/min) 10,7dB(A) https://www.digikey.se/sv/products/detail/sunon-fans/HA60251V4-1000U-A99/6198731
