Tire size for Master pro V3?

Recommended Posts

Does anybody know the size of tire that goes on a master pro version 3?

Not sure if it's 2.75 x 17 or 3 x 17

I want to get a Shinko 244 to put on it, but not sure of the correct size.

It's neither if you search with those markings. 3x17 would search for bicycle tire that doesn't exists and would fit on a 14-15" rim.

This guid by @mrelwood will help you out.

Generally 2.75 is used for roughly 3" wide tires in motorcycle standard. They are never exact measurements.

So not sure what to make of this listing of a 2.75-17 tire?

From this spec listed on the Master Pro Specification sheet, you would know:

(1) The Master Pro comes from the factory with a motorcycle/scooter tire, and not a bicycle tire.

(2) The rim diameter is 17".

(3)  The overall nominal tire diameter is 22".

From the picture the specs look correct, size 2.75-17 which has an outer diameter of about 17 + 2x2.75 = 22.5" (which is different from 17x2.75), see e.g. this tire https://www.amazon.com/TIRE-FRONT-REAR-2-75-17-BIAS/dp/B001PS2QDU

Thank you for this.  I didn't know that 2.75-17 is different from 17 X2 .75

I just thought it was a different way of writing the same  thing.

Thanks for the reply.  I think I got it now.  The 17" rim diameter was throwing me off.  I've only seen even numbers usually.
