EntrySpecialist
I have just purchased a KS16x and I have done about 150KM on it. I have then updated the firmware to 2.20 and it seems to be riding fine. However, last night I notice some small motor noise on my wheel when going at low speed. I then attempted to downgrade it using EUC World. After the downgrade has been completed, the wheel now no longer boot. It will say "Bluetooth is off" then shuts down. When I hold the power button, I am able to connect to the Bluetooth but I am not able to see any info or refresh the firmware. I have tried using Soft Tune on both iOS and Android but with o luck. Hoping to get some ideas here. 1
Tawpie
I heard that @Seba, the author of EUCWorld, may have a way to revive a bricked wheel but I don't know if he really does or not. It would be worth reaching out to him on direct messages or by filing a trouble report using the EUCWorld app
Funky
That's why i'm still riding on 2.03v.. And don't plan updating anything. If wheel works - why update? Now you know better. Did you go lower version than it originally came with? Normaly wheel gets ducked, if owner tries to install lower version than it had before. If i had 2.03v - i can go lower than that.. Did you try turning on/off phone? Restart it for kicks. Maybe something happens. Or reinstall the app.. I agree with Funky in that I'd only update if there was a real reason too, and then only if the update had been out for a while and was looking OK. Even with a known good update things can go wrong with corruption, especially when updates of OTA (over the air). Often updates are for the manufacturer, not the owner. Consider kingsong's own app; why does it need to be connected to data, have location on etc; that's for them. Have you tried using the kingsong app? Just looked up soft tuner; have you seen this post? It sounds like ks might remotely lock the wheel https://forum.electricunicycle.org/topic/17912-soft-tuner/ Edited December 8, 2022 by Uras
plentora
Hey your downgrade fix worked, now your motor doesn't make sounds I think you upgraded STM32 microcontroller firmware to GD32 microcontroller - they are not fully compatible. EUC World should prevent this but doesn't?

EUC World should prevent this but doesn't? Unfortunately, EUC World doesn't know what MCU is used or what is the hardware version of a mainboard. But I plan to add some measures preventing a user to downgrade to a firmware that is not verified to run on his wheel. The problem is that the firmware used for downgrade is not compatible with the new MCU chip that is most probably mounted on your wheel's mainboard. So when you tries to turn the wheel on, it boots into firmware that hangs. Please put your wheel upside down (handle facing downwards) and while keeping it in this position, turn the wheel on. This trick should enforce booting into a bootloader. Now it should be able to connect SoftTuner and install newest firmware for your KS-16X. 1
