This feature would require agreement between me and Inmotion to access their firmware server, but apparently Inmotion is not interested in adding firmware update support to apps other that their own. The problem is that Inmotion app is fully dependent of their servers, so in case of connectivity problems (which often are unreliable), Inmotion app doesn't even connect to the wheel, not mentioning being able to update the firmware. What if when i get my V12 in about 10 days, i get the inmotion app to connect thru a wireshark virtual connection and catch the headers and binaries and we make a custom one? 😅😜😁 What do you say @Seba ? We can run a local dns server and redirect the request when it's time for the binary to our own or a local one, that way serving properly downloaded 100% firmware instead of one fetched over the internet. Richardo Posted November 27, 2021 Posted November 27, 2021 @Lefterisyou absolutely should do it. Would be funny and scary to discover they have a cert pinned. Unlikely though. 1 Quote
skautas2003 Posted November 30, 2021 Posted November 30, 2021 Does anyone knows will 1.5.4 be available in the future? I get info from my seller that it is unavailable at the moment an it is inmotion decision. Can someone or someone from inmotion side can comment on this? Is it temporary decision or not? Quote
Richardo Posted November 30, 2021 Posted November 30, 2021 Are you on android or iOS? I read that updates are temporarily disabled from iOS devices while inMotion troubleshoots the app. (Some wheels broke while updating from apple devices) Quote

Just question how long it will be like that? Quote
ESB Posted December 2, 2021 Author Posted December 2, 2021 (edited) At least you have a working wheel 🙂 They disabled it after 5 wheels bricked themselves while updating all in one day. Mine included. Annoying all around. I remember eagerly wanting the new firmware for the features it had. I don’t think anyone knows when they’ll enable it again but I heard inmotion is taking this very seriously and has a team looking into why these wheels died and what the root cause is. I haven’t sent back my board though so not sure exactly how they’re doing that. Edited December 2, 2021 by ESB Quote
Popular Post ESB Posted December 8, 2021 Author Popular Post Posted December 8, 2021 New main board / motherboard arrived today from eWheels. Thanks Jason! Put the wheel back together and everything seems to be working. Also was pleasantly surprised to see the board already has 1.5.4 on it. The only thing that is still broken is the inmotion app cannot connect to the wheel. Error code is “2, 2”. I have tried everything you can think of to fix it but nothing works. However, 3rd party apps like DarknessBot and EUC World connect fine and they’re able to read and display data from the wheel like speed, voltage, battery etc etc So that gives me confidence to say the wheel is fixed, stable, and safe to ride. The app issue I think is just an app bug but we’ll see. I do want that fixed though as if it’s broken forever then I’ll be stuck on this firmware and I worry it’ll hurt resale value of the wheel if I ever choose to part ways with it. Fingers crossed that I don’t run into any of the other issues I’ve seen people run into. I just wanna use my new wheel!! 5 Quote
