New mcm5 - bad tape on pads.

Peel off part won’t separate. Anyone else ? What did you replace it with. I just bought Scotch #30 mounting tape.

Yeah, the coating gotway uses now on their pads makes them more durable but harder to stick stuff too.

just rough up the side you want to stick better with some sandpaper, wipe it down with a wet towel or sponge. Then let it dry of course and the double sided tape will hold a lot better after that.

if you really need it to bond better, you can add some heat to get the adhesive to spread into the pores better too.

even better is to buy adhesive Velcro (or w/e the Amazon off brand is) and use that instead so you make adjustments easier.

I thought the same thing but mine did actually separate, it took literally 5 minutes on each one, I think I used a needle to get it started.

I tried really hard on the second one, but just ended up with two layers of really thin paper.

I used the Scotch stuff. It’ll work for awhile.

Yeah, it's a total pain, I'm sure the Scotch will work just fine, speaking of Scotch, it's after 5:)

I used a sharp blades edge to poke on the curved area and got it out in a few minutes - 'wasn't easy.
