Transport mode comes to mind, but I can’t think of a reason for it to be engaged mid ride. Having the charger plugged in powers on the logic side of the mainboard, but not the motor. Not sure how that would be relevant either. I’m not sure how overheating behaves in detail. Either way, it was a wheel failure that may repeat at any point if not taken care of. Apparently that depends on how the "error condition" is recoverable (freespin shutdown: just turn it on again).
