Lutalo
My son took a selfie with the cathedral burning down in the background. Anyone else hear about this? Building is what; 700+ years old. My son said that the contractors doing the renovations caused it. Dang!
LanghamP
Lead levels are about ten times higher for which an alert is normally triggered. What it interesting, and expected, is that officials have denied high levels of lead while a leaked internal document states extremely high levels of lead. This is remarkably similar to the official position of Chernobyl. the average presence for a Paris street is around 5,000 micrograms per square meter. Meanwhile, local rules state that any school building should be evacuated and thoroughly cleaned if interior lead levels reach 70 micrograms per square meter. At nearby Place Saint Michel, for example, they have reached as high as 28,400micrograms per square meter—almost six times the usual level. Basically, several hundred tons of lead on the cathedral went up in smoke and down in liquid pools, enough to prompt a complete evacuation of all workers on and around the site. It's probably an excellent bet that Notre Dame is the equivalent of the US Supersite (which means extremely high contamination that renders it inhabitable).
