"Hi all: you can use a Hangout on Air to have multiple participants in your live broadcast.

You can set up a Hangout on Air by going to your channel's Live Events (https://www.youtube.com/my_live_events) and creating a new live event.

Make sure that you select the option to create a "Quick" event.

Shortly before your broadcast, return to your Live Events page (view Scheduled events), and start the Hangout on Air. At that time you can get a link to invite other people to join you on-screen.

Once everyone has joined, you can then click the button to go Live on Air to start the live stream."

Hangouts on air DOES NOT SUPPORT split screen

"Hangouts on Air does not offer a split screen option (where the two participants are side by side). It's designed to switch back and forth between participants."

It's a bit on the pricey side. Maybe if we ever get above 20 viewers it might be worth it

Assuming the 'free' version does not provide the desired features the $15/month fee does add up over a years commitment. I mean it's like throwing away two Big Mac meals per month...one Big Mac  meal each time you use the software for a biweekly Livestream show! Throwing money at the problem does seems to solve the audio issue by using Zoom Webinar software.

Waxing tech poetic...the echo problem seems to be the 'rebroadcast' of your audio transport stream (TS) at some point.

The low MB audio in Livestream is....well....I really don't know!
