YoshiSkySun
This Friday night, September 29, 2017 @ 7:00 p.m. Join me and 1000's of cyclists riding together for America's largest community bike ride known as the Los Angeles Critical Mass. This is the biggest community ride in the United States which takes place on the last Friday of every month. Generally, you can show up to Critical Mass on a bike or anything human powered. The purpose of this ride is to meet others and make new friends while discovering new parts of the greater Los Angeles area. The ride will roll out at 7:30 p.m. with police escorts from the corner of Wilshire Blvd and Western Avenue (Purple Line Metro Station) in Koreatown. This ride is approximately 30 miles with a speed limit of 10-15 mph, with two brief stops for snacks and drinks, all available in exchange for donations at each of the stops at the Support Vehicles with the yellow flashing lights. This event usually ends at midnight as the ride loops back to the starting location with much of the group dispersing. Who: Join me, meet others, and make new friends. What: Los Angeles Critical Mass. Where: Koreatown (Wilshire Blvd and Western Ave.) When: 7:00pm - 12:00am Why: Spread the Love!!! Spoiler
abinder3
@YoshiSkySun, Wish I could, but don’t get off work until 8:30pm. (A side thought; will they let you ride an EUC during that ?)
YoshiSkySun
Yes, I've never had a problem riding my EUC with the bike community...they are always impressed by my effortlessness. Burn off your work stress and liberate yourself...bring your euc with you after work and we can meet up, you don't wanna miss this!
Marty Backe
I'm going to try my best to make this. The weather is perfect - it will be a warm night. I do have to get up early for the Saturday morning ride in Whittier so I'll probably only do a couple of hours. How will you be getting there? Parking could be an issue. Any recommendations? YoshiSkySun
A couple of hrs is fine. @Stan Onymous has been bitten by the bug and he has stated that he will be there too. Parking is never an issue, because most ppl get there by bikes...I like to park next to big businesses with bright lights. My driver will be dropping me off. Stan Onymous
I would look for cheapskate parking south of wilshire and east of Western along those side streets. There is also parking around the wiltern theatre or just east of there across from 3580 wilshire bldg. I am thinking of the Red to the Purple line since there is a stop at Western and Wilshire, and driving around there is always hit and miss. Marty Backe
I'll be arriving in the area around 7 and then hunt for parking, etc. I'll try and find you there but it probably won't be at
YoshiSkySun
The high-lighted green points on the map is where I tend to park my car. There will be many free parking meters, if you drive around long enough, you'll find one. I've never had any problems parking my car in Koreatown. Marty Backe
Thanks. Are those meters free after 6pm or do you always have to pay?
