Finn Bjerke
Upgrading bearings when I realised the motor had water inside - probably because of a bad rubber gasket. It look terrible Charging port also fucked up .... Yes I rode in very light rain for 20 minutes ....... SHerman S is IP 55 rated..... UniVehje
That looks really bad for a wheel with such a good reputation. I remain amazed by how bad these are for real life usage. Simple mopeds and e-bikes can be kept outside and ridden in rain for years without problems. What do the manufacturers think we use these for? This should be a matter of warranty. And nobody should put any condition on riding in rain. These are mean to be ridden outside where rains happen. Did the charge port have water damage also or some other issue? BTW, could you edit your topic to include wheel model? That way other Sherman-S users find it easier. Edited February 25 by UniVehje
EUC Custom Power-Pads
I also don't know why ALL manufacturers are too stupid and don't install oil seals on the motor axle. There would be enough space for them without having to change anything other than the motor. At least with Begode. Simply make the axle a little wider, change the motor cover and leave out the 2 5mm spacers and the whole thing fits without any further modifications. It could be because we keep buying all they can make even without the seals 🤷♂️ The key is resellers who get to pay for warranty services.
EUC Custom Power-Pads
I also don't understand why the motor cover is sealed with silicone for such a faulty design without a oil seal? As long as no oil seals are fitted and water can still get easily into the bearings and it can just as easily run out again on the inside of the motor, I won't seal the motor cover with silicone. I prefer that the water has an outlet.
Finn Bjerke
I guess I have 1 year warranty on the motor we will see what happens. Ive been riding this (very expensive) wheel for 11 months. Inmotion v13 has no water inside. I just changed bearings and tire on that big boy. My guess is the rubber casket over the bearing had a hole or something in it. Some trolling *etard (on facebook) said in this here context: "Dont take your EUC apart they were not ment to be taken apart..." Answer: "OH really how dya change tire then my freind??" I was lucky the water killed the right side bearing and made noises. I cut easily have had a cut out is my guess. Inside rubber cascet was some silicone I guess covering 80% of the diamter. EUC Custom Power-Pads
This is probably for the suspension sliders, not for the motor.
