Milordas
Any preference Nylonove fairing plates over Gizzla's? seems Nylonove have included calf saving on them, but no idea why there is curvature on the bottom. Any pictures of it?

S22 doesn't have enough room for a brake pads, however you can DIY more room e.g. with a L-shaped aluminium. I used 40x40x3mm, just drilled holes for the screws and added some velcro. It's lighter than plastic plate 0,4kg vs. 1,2 kg and doesn't add thickness of EUC and is cheap. Edited May 26, 2023 by okvp 3

level9
This is an excellent idea. Just ordered 40x80x4mm plates to test. I have the fairing plates but may dump them. The main complaint is they bend inward when heavy on the brake pads since they are made out of plastic.

I think I could have gone with 2mm thickness with 33% weight reduction, however I don't know the grade of aluminium... You will certainly have enough room for the pads, but the weight will be somewhat double 0,8kg or so...

I have my pads further back so was looking for 40x80 or 40x100. I found a vendor that had multiple options and thickness. I was concerned anything thicker than 4mm might not leave enough room for the screws so went with the 40x80x4 option. Thicker is probably better for the longer length anyway... https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256802670257402.html?spm=a2g0o.new_account_index.0.0.920225b9vbYIPD&gatewayAdapt=glo2usa
level9
Switched over to the 40x80x4mm aluminum L and dumped the fairing plates. A little bit of work to install but this is much better. Not as wide and a much more solid connection to the wheel (no braking wobbles).
mrelwood
Well done! I have always liked working with those aluminum profiles. Just as a finishing touch though, I would’ve rounded or at least slanted the dangerously sharp looking upper corner…
