Vam Monaco
I feel like I might have asked this question before (please ban the fuсk out of me if I have) but have they made a 60 mph electric unicycle yet? If not, has anyone modified an EUC to go 60? What is the current world record?
Popular Post Cerbera
Pretty much. V13, EX-30 can get very close to those speeds now, and we're only a generation or 2 away from wheels that can do it easily. However, we are near the top of the curve of feasibility. You literally CAN'T go much faster than 60 mph without being raked off the wheel backwards by wind force / drag, which increases exponentially with speed. Ask the people that have done it, or close to it on existing wheels how easy it is, how much physical effort it takes to stay there, and how enjoyable it is riding for sustained periods at those sorts of speeds. The answers may surprise you. The grass may look greener at 60 mph+ but we may find that when we get there there's only 5 people actually crazy enough to want to do it ! If we want faster than that, well that's what MC's are for. Edited March 15, 2023 by Cerbera 2

If you are talking 60 GPS then the answer is no, the v-13 has been brought past the 56mph limit to 58 and there are plans from inmotion to unlock it to 60 which in tern will be able to be pushed past to probably 62mpg. The ex30 i think can do 55 but nobody has been brave enough to push a begode wheel past that. 1

No I wouldn't. Could I remain upright in the wind at that speed ? Nope. Would I enjoy it ? - No, I'd be fucking terrified I have found the upper limit of what is enjoyable on that machine, and it is well under 60 mph. Other machines / people may feel better up there, and I thought I'd be one of them...but... nope ! Massively high speed on EUCs is wild and exciting all the time it's a tantalizing fantasy. When it gets here properly I think we'll find most of us don't want it. Edited March 15, 2023 by Cerbera 6
sbb
If someone does pull it off, I expect they'll do it sitting.

I had to put both arms behind my back and roll my shoulders back. What's amazing about going that fast is how you can steer with your arms. Extending your right hand will turn you left and vice/versa.

Popular Post superox
What's spooky about 60 mph speeds is the braking distance. EUCs already brake poorly compared to two-wheelers with physical brakes, and the faster you go the more substantial that disadvantage becomes. 3

Noah H.S.
As the sport matures, I expect we'll see track racing at those speeds. Same danger level as motorcycle racing, with the same safety gear.

Swiftly and unexpectedly. This reminds me of the basic characteristic of a cardiovascular patient - dying suddenly.
