MrH
I managed to get an inexpensive Ninebot E+ last year to learn on, and see if this hobby was for me. I learned, and it is! I am now looking to make a purchase of a modern wheel, and I was curious as to how much ride difference fatter tires, etc. make regarding the ride quality in comparison to the one I learned on. Say, how much more comfortable/stable etc. would a new equivalent like a KS-16 or Inmotion V10 be? How would the ride quality of a KS-18 or V11 compare? I am just curious as to what I can expect when I upgrade.
RockyTop
As the tire gets bigger the ride gets smoother. Cracks and bumps in the road become less important. It takes more force to turn and maneuver the wheel. The wheel becomes less hyper. ....... and 18mph seems really slow.
meepmeepmayer
It's not just the tire size. It's also the power of modern wheels. A Ninebot or V8 feel meek in comparison to a wheel with much more oomph.
EUC Sharkman
I too acquired a Ninebot One E+ to learn on! Definitely the power, stability, and probably pedal height are the main differences between the E+ and modern wheels. Going back and riding the E+ from time to time makes me nervous sometimes because I hit the wheel’s limit very quickly. Built like a tank though!
Popular Post Zombie Batman
I started on an E+. Newer wheels feel firmer and react to balance you quicker. The the hardest mode on the E+ is still 10 times squishier than soft mode on a modern wheel. I've go back and ride my E+ sometimes and find it is nearly unridable. Once you get used to a performance wheel the E+ feels like a death trap. Edited June 21, 2021 by Zombie Batman
MrH
Thanks for all the responses everyone. Glad to get confirmation on what I suspected by those who have made the transition themselves!
