Are you firm on the listing price, or would you be willing to do 1k? (And what is shipping costs to California, SF area?)

Also would you recommend this for a first wheel? I basically want a wheel that works as a commuter but can also do off-roading or get speed on roads so I can get a feel for what recreational riding I enjoy most.

An MSX is a fantastic allround and first wheel. Not the latest model, but close, and half the price!

Meepmeepmayer nailed it.  It's a great first wheel. It's not "the best" as a learning wheel because, usually, the smaller and wider tires are easier to learn on. The MSX is in the 18-inch category so slightly steeper initial learning curve. But, past initial learning stage, there's the whole progression of going from beginner to moderate and moderate to advanced. The MSX, unlike most starter wheels, will take you through to the advanced rider level. Also, from what suppliers say, it's one of the most reliable wheels ever produced. However, the shell isn't so great if you think you'll be just totally crashing this thing, end-over-end style.

As for price, $1k is lower than I originally wanted, but it hasn't sold yet. SO, I'm willing to do it if you pay for shipping. Given E-wheels great support for their customers, I think it would probably run around $60-65 for shipping to SF.

I think that's great for me! I already learned how to ride on a mten3 (granted there will be extra learning for this, but the whole awkward falling phase is significantly shortened). I'm more concerned with having a wheel that will allow me to grow to an advanced rider without needing to sell it and buy a new one halfway. And hopefully I won't be crashing end-over-end hah, but if it starts to be an issue I don't mind doing some DIY reinforcing or padding the shell. But is there any maintenance / things that I should expect to break soon, and if so what would be your rough estimates for the cost of that? (I can handle doing repairs myself given instructions, but I assume some things I'll need to ship to ewheels or EUCO to pay for repairs?)

And yes that works for me. I'll message you my contact information so we can work out details (don't want to throw it up on the public threads).
