RoadRunner Posted November 25, 2019 Posted November 25, 2019 Found this article about Hemp batteries, sounds interesting. https://themindunleashed.com/2019/10/hemp-batteries-more-powerful-lithium-graphene.html
atdlzpae Posted November 25, 2019 Posted November 25, 2019 Quote When fully assembled, the energy density is 12 Wh/kg, which can be achieved at a charge time less than six seconds. Supercapacitors, huh? That's absolute shit. Li-ion has 250Wh/kg. Even lead-acid has about 40Wh/kg. The fact that it charges in 6 seconds doesn't matter if your cellphone weights the same as a brick. For electric cars it's also useless - it'd make Tesla have a range of 20km. Nothing to see here for us. Supercapacitors are great and have their use cases, but they'd need to get an order of magnitude denser to be practical as an energy storage.
