Ben Kim
Hi, Does anyone here tech-inclined have any tips on soldering 18AWG to the GX16 female solder cups? The wiring appears to be too thick to be soldered into those tiny cups; Would spreading the cups with pliers possibly work in getting this to work? I am working on making a charge doctor-type device and also need to make a GX16-5 to XT60 adapter for my 2-12A charger; the issue is securing 18AWG to the female cups. On the male connector it shouldn’t be any problem since there is a larger surface to work with. Many thanks in advance! Afair/read around here some ~5A is the "normal" limit for such plugs. So their cups are designed for thinner wires.
