what is the safe top speed that the Patton can maintain for cruising ?

That is a moving target based on rider weight, state of charge on the battery, type of battery, wind speed, air temps, terrain, etc...

I hold 38 -42 mph indicated for good portions of my rides.  I have tiltback set to 80 PWM and I've never hit it.

As long as you don't lean on it too hard at those speeds, I think those are safe speeds.  I have gone faster in short bursts, but no sustained for more than a couple minutesat a time.

geeezzzzz....38-42mph,  thats a good 60kph-almost70kph....thats more than enuf for commuting... thank you for your valuable reply !!!! ride safely this year...!!!
