Cerbera
Well it's about bloody time we had some advancement over the mag-lev hoverboards that were so disappointing a few years back, so was intrigued to see this guy try and build a ground-effect one, which seems to have shunted us a little bit closer to the classic Back to the Future 'original dream'... So just posting that here for all the people who like 'things that glide' and haven't seen it yet...
atdlzpae
Nope, not even 1mm closer. 3 problems: - Based on ground effect, so it's gonna be EXTREMELY loud. When the thing is working, the video editing replaces sound with music. Very common in kickstarters. - Battery life. I didn't watch the video, only skimmed it. Did the authors say how many minutes does it work before needing a recharge? - A normal board allows you to steer. These types of contraptions basically can't change direction in air. A company made a magnetic hoverboard a few years ago and made a video with Tony Hawk... And all he was really able to do was to spin in circles.
