onewheelkoregro
These are screenshots from a FB group. But I don't get why this guy is so upset. Like some people will stop buying from dealers? I work on my own wheels but I realize not everyone has the aptitude for this and those people will continue to buy wheels from dealers with repair facilities. It's kind of hilarious though that this guy believes that selling wheels directly to a consumer instead of going through a middleman markup is bad. techyiam
There is no free lunch. Shop rates can be expensive. There are many riders who won't, or know how to work on their own wheels. Full service dealers will be around. DIY-warranty-discounted wheels may not work for everyone. People who don't understand the realistic implications of discounted wheels purchases will soon find out for themselves. It only takes one bad experience for an owner to learn the lesson not to purchase a new wheel with a DIY-warranty-discounted wheel again.
skunkmonkey
This is why at least in America manufacturers issue an MSRP which indicates what the manufacturer feels that the vehicle should be sold for. Then both the manufacturer and the distributors can sell to customers, and the distributors don't have to worry about being undercut by the manufacturer. Having distributors is a good thing because it provides a location where people can repair their vehicles, try out new vehicles, and get knowledgeable feedback about new vehicles. If manufacturers undercut distributors by selling for less than the MSRP then that's a very bad thing. If they sell for the MSRP then the distributor just needs to not be so greedy, and sell for the MSRP. OldFartRides
Put simply, Begode is flooding the market with *cheaper* , quickly changing models that are ultimately disposable. They are ”good for the life of the product”. But it’s not just Begode to be fair. They just seem to be the leader of the trend. JMHO.
alcatraz
So the moral of the story is, check out dealer reviews before ordering with expectations of an upheld warranty and domestic service. Seems this guy thought "any dealer" means full protection and then got disappointed. His mistake was to trust "any dealer".
